Fashion photographers Mert & Marcus have been snapped up by Lancome to co-create a capsule makeup collection.
The creative duo (comprised of Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott) have joined forces with the French beauty brand to launch the "Lancome x Mert & Marcus After Dark Collection". According to reports by WWD, it is set to launch in Europe this month, before rolling out in the US in March.
The dramatic series of makeup focuses on glamorous, sultry shades and formulas. It includes an "Eyes Cold as Ice Kit" that features a liquid shadow, a glittery topper, flared cat-eye lashes and "Monsieur Big Waterproof Mascara" in the shades Green 01 and Blue 02.
There is also a 10-pan "After Dark Eyeshadow Palette" containing pearlescent, matte and iridescent shades, and a line of "Transforming Liquid Eyeshadows" in matte-to-glitter hues.
The "Flaming Lips Lip Kit" in two shades features a duo colour lipstick and "L'Absolu Gloss", while highlighting comes courtesy of the "Teint Idole Ultra Duo Stick", available in the shades Light Pink 01 or Dore 02.
Three "L'Absolu Rouge" lipsticks complete the collection. "We were never really interested in beauty in its original form," reads an official statement from Mert & Marcus. "Somehow, what excited us over the past 26 years, was transforming and creating characters with light, make-up and stories, and this is what we tried to achieve with this collection".
