This Malaysian grandma's TikTok videos have almost 2 million likes

During the first movement control order in March last year, Kanmani Periannan, 25, posted a TikTok video featuring her 78-year-old grandmother Sinnamah Palippan making black pottu paste (a traditional paste used on the forehead to ward off bad luck) for infants.

The video highlighted how Sinnamah prepares the paste the traditional way, using natural ingredients like burnt black rice, medicinal herb acorus calamus (Jerangau), and gum benzoin powder.
