PNB Darby Park offers choices for all taste buds

Restaurants serve Chinese, Indian and Western dishes in addition to Malay cuisine.

This Ramadan, the chefs at PNB Darby Park Executive Suites are serving up a treat at, not one, but two restaurants — each with its own buffet spread.

“We want to cater to both families and corporate guests. So whether you prefer a quiet ambience or a street-like feel, we have it,” said executive sous chef Ard Abd Aziz.

He said those who preferred a private dining experience could head to 39 Restaurant, where diners will be treated to an international spread.

“The buka puasa fare here not only offers Malay cuisine, but also Chinese, Indian and Western dishes,” he said, adding that their dim sum and yong tau foo were a hit among the regulars.

The other speciality, he said, was the 10 types of kerabu, namely the Kerabu Perut, Kerabu Kerang, Kerabu Udang Sotong, Seafood Kerabu, Kerabu Taugeh, Kerabu Acar Buah, Kerabu Nangka, Kerabu Ayam, Kerabu Daging and Kerabu Mangga.

Guests can look forward to the popular Fish Head Curry paired with Roti Benggali as well as the Ketam Masak Lemak Cili Padi,

Those who fancy grilled seafood, there is the pais ikan, chicken and beef satay, grilled squid, otak-otak and grilled fish.

At the dessert counter, a variety of traditional Malay kuih awaits diners, including 15 different types of kuih talam.

Over at 10 Binjai Restaurant, chef Ashar Daud, who is in charge of the restaurant’s hawker-styled spread, said the kitchen staff would be preparing some of their must-try dishes.

One that is sure to be on the buffet table is the Napiah Briyani, named after one of his colleagues.

“My colleague cooked it for us once and everyone liked it. We then made it for our guests and they loved it, too,” Ashar said, adding that the dish was available daily, thanks to its high demand.

Other popular dishes include Spring Chicken Percik, Gulai Kawah, Tempoyak, Sup Gearbox, Shawarma Chicken and Lamb as well as Kambing Golek.

To end your meal on a sweet note, Ashar highly recommends the Fried Banana Fritter, which is wrapped in fillo pastry and topped with a scoop of ice cream of your choice.

The buffet at 39 Restaurant is priced at RM115 nett per adult and RM57.50 nett per child (four to 12 years old), while the spread at 10 Binjai Restaurant is priced at RM100 nett per adult and RM50 nett per child (four to 12 years old).

The Ramadan promotion ends on July 25.
