When Sasa Sestic’s name was announced as the world’s best barista last year, the crowd erupted into a frenzy. His immaculate routine may have already secured his victory at the World Barista Championship (WBC) 2015 held at the Washington State Convention Centre in Washington, United States, but the cheers rang sweet for Sestic nonetheless.

Sestic almost didn’t compete that day.
