Suria FM has welcomed Malaysian actress and television host Elly Arifin as the newest addition to its lineup.

She will join the lively duo Ajak and Fad on Morning Morning Suria, the station’s weekday show airing from 6am to 10am.

Known for her cheerful and charming personality, Elly, 35, is expected to bring a fresh energy and perspective to the programme.

In a statement, Suria FM general manager DJ Lin expressed excitement over the appointment, saying: “We believe the combination of Ajak, Fad and Elly will be a major draw for listeners to start their mornings with joy.”

According to reports, Elly last worked as a radio announcer in 2013, during her stint with another local station.

In an interview with mStar, The Star’s Malay-language news portal, Elly said joining Suria FM’s morning show is an exciting opportunity as it marks her first time hosting a morning segment.

“I’ve never had the chance to host a morning programme … It would’ve been a waste to turn down the chance. Since I already have experience in radio, why not return to it and strengthen my skills in this field?” she added.
