In recent years, health concerns have kept former Hong Kong actor Lo Hoi Pang largely out of the public eye and prompted him to scale back his workload.
However, the 84-year-old recently delighted fans after sharing a video on social media in which he appeared energetic and in good spirits.
Lo revealed that his health has improved significantly after a period of rest and recuperation, with the “three highs” that had previously troubled him – high blood pressure, high blood sugar and high cholesterol – all returning to normal.
“I’m perfectly healthy now,” he said with a smile.
When asked by Hong Kong media how he overcame his health problems, Lo credited his good friend and screen legend Chow Yun Fat for encouraging him to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
The Life Without Principle (2011) star said he gradually developed a regular exercise routine after taking up hiking and jogging with Chow, 71, in recent years.
He also expressed his gratitude to Chow for patiently guiding him and sharing a breathing technique that he practises while exercising.
“When running, breathe through your nose, not your mouth. Breathing through your mouth can make it dry,” he said.
Lo said he now makes it a point to exercise every morning. HK01 reported that he runs for about 30 minutes each day.
For the record, Chow has been a running enthusiast for a very long time.
He took part in the annual Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon in January this year and completed the 10km run in two hours and 23 seconds.
