Hong Kong actress Michelle Yim recently came to Malaysia for work, and she made full use of her time here by staying active.

According to Sin Chew Daily, the 70-year-old was recently spotted hiking at Bukit Wawasan in Puchong, Selangor.

A netizen who bumped into her along the trail later shared their excitement on Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, posting a photo with the actress.

The caption read: “Running into celebrities while hiking in Hong Kong isn’t unusual, but in Malaysia? That’s pure luck.”

The netizen added that this was Yim’s second hike at Bukit Wawasan, with her first visit having been in November last year.

Aside from hiking, Yim also uploaded on Xiaohongshu a video of herself playing pickleball.

Although some fans were concerned the sport might be too strenuous for her, the actress said she was thrilled to give it a try for the first time, adding that she went into “high-energy mode” the moment she stepped onto the court.

Yim, popularly known as Mai Suet or Mi Xue, first rose to fame for her performance as Wong Yung – the female lead in the 1976 wuxia series Legend Of The Condor Heroes.

Over the years, she has starred in various dramas such as Tai Chi Master (1980), The Legendary Fok (1981), Moonlight Resonance (2008) and more.

Her performance in Moonlight Resonance earned her Best Actress honours at both the TVB Anniversary Awards in 2008 and the Asian Television Awards in 2009.

With this achievement, she became the first Hong Kong television actress to clinch two Best Actress titles for the same role, as well as the first from Hong Kong to win Best Actress at the Asian Television Awards.
