Hong Kong star Ray Lui may be 68, but he continues to look as youthful and fit as ever.

The actor recently revealed on social media his secret to maintaining his radiant looks and good health – a homemade drink he calls the “detox energy soup”.

The recipe is simple: 60g of celery, 70g of bitter gourd, 50g of carrot, 20g of apple and a quarter piece of lemon.

To prepare, wash and cut the celery, bitter gourd, apple and carrot into small pieces before blending them together. Then, squeeze in fresh lemon juice, add a little water and blend again until smooth.

According to Lui, this drink not only boosts metabolism and flushes out toxins but replenishes essential nutrients too.

“I drink it whenever I’m feeling tired. It helps me detox and restore my energy,” he said.

The To Be Number One (1991) star added that the drink also makes a nourishing dinner option for those who practise intermittent fasting.

“It’s gentle on the body and leaves one feeling comfortable after drinking,” he said.

Back in April, Lui highlighted onions as a key part of his anti-ageing routine, describing them as “smart vegetables” that promote gut health.

He noted that the vegetable, rich in quercetin, offer anti-inflammatory benefits that help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, prevent Alzheimer’s, fight cancer and regulate blood sugar.
