Kristin Cavallari is reflecting on one of the “scariest things” she’s ever experienced.

The Hills alum reflected on a terrifying story that left her “shaking” while she was on vacation with her family in the Bahamas in 2020. “My kids still do not know this to this day,” Cavallari noted recalling the traumatic moment on her Let’s Be Honest podcast.

“We were in the Bahamas during Covid – it was spring break. This is 2020 and then Covid hit so we ended up staying in the Bahamas for a month,” Cavallari explained. “We were in a really great, safe – what we thought was safe – gated resort.”

The 37-year-old said the AC unit in the home broke, so the resort sent a crew to repair it.

“That night I had my son Cam in the bed with me. Cam and I were sleeping,” she recalled. “And I woke up to a man crawling on my bedroom floor.”

She continued, “I was so out of it because obviously I had just woken up,” she said. “And I go, ‘What the f–k are you doing?’

After realising the mother of three was awake, the intruder immediately bolted out out of the room.

“Because Cam was in the bed with me, I didn’t yell. I didn’t scream. You think in those moments that that’s what you’d do, but your instincts just kick in. I honestly felt like I was in Mission Impossible.”

She then ran to alert her now ex husband Jay Cutler, who was in another room.

“Once I woke Jay up, then I got really nervous,” she admitted. “Then I start to get like, really scared. I started shaking, and I was able to process then what just happened. But until that point, I was not scared. I was really calm. You just are running off of instinct.”

Calling the incident, one of the “scariest” things she’s ever been through, Cavallari decided not to tell her children out of fear of how it would impact them.

“That’s just one that I think would really scare them,” she said. “Long story short, he took all of the cash that we had in a backpack. We ended up getting it back. We found out who it was. It was the HVAC guy.” – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
