Premiering globally on June 3, on Netflix, is the latest instalment of the highly successful Sailor Moon franchise – Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie.

This is a two-part film that’s based on Dream arc from the original manga series by Naoko Takeuchi.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal focuses on Sailor Guardians’ growth – both as teenagers and Sailor Guardians. It will also explore the relationship between Chibi-Usa and Helios.

Watch the teaser trailer below.

Directed by Chiaki Kon, the official synopsis reads: “Usagi and Chibi-Usa encounter a Pegasus named Helios, who is in search of the chosen Maiden that can break the seal of the Golden Crystal.

“Meanwhile, a mysterious troupe called the Dead Moon Circus appears in town, hatching a nefarious plan to scatter the nightmare incarnations known as Lemures, seize the Legendary Silver Crystal, rule over the moon and the earth, and eventually dominate the entire universe.”

Phew! That's a lot of work.

Sailor Moon is a Japanese manga series that follows the adventures of a schoolgirl name Usagi, who transforms into Sailor Moon.

She leads Sailor Soldiers and together they battle the evil forces that want to destroy the universe. Another main character in the franchise is Chibi-Usa, who comes from the future.

The manga series was originally serialised in the 1990s. It has been adapted into anime series as well as films, and has a large fanbase all over the world.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie, Part 1 and Part 2, was released in Japan earlier this year.
