A taste of Malay archipelago cuisine in one place

EMBARK on a culinary journey celebrating the heritage, warmth and diversity of traditional Malay and Nusantara cuisine.

“Sajian Nusantara – Rasa Warisan Serantau” features a collaboration between celebrity chef Datuk Ismail Ahmad and Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur’s Table Talk head chef Ahmad Mahmod.

A variety of kerabu (local salad) made with mango, seafood and beef, ulam (raw salad), main courses, live-action stalls and desserts await diners.

The buffet also features Ismail’s signature dishes like ayam penyet, Nasi Briyani Kambing, Gulai Ayam Nangka Muda, Daging Rendang Padang, Kari Ketam Bunga, Pais Ikan Berulam, Rawon, Gulai Tanjung, Sate Madura and Badak Berendam Tepung Pulut Hitam.

Meanwhile, Ahmad and his culinary team offer up Nasi Hujan Panas, Kambing Masak Merah and Udang Sambal Petai among other dishes.

Diners can also check out live cooking stations featuring roti canai, murtabak, curry mee, bakso, satay, roasted whole lamb and assorted pasta, and a range of fresh seafood.

The meal ends on a sweet note with teh tarik, Milo tarik, an assortment of kuih and puddings as well as ais kacang, cendol, ice cream and a chocolate fountain.

The buffet at Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur is available until tomorrow.

It is priced at RM148nett per adult and RM88nett per senior citizen (60 years and above) or child (age five to 12).
