PETALING JAYA: Orkim Bhd has taken delivery of its latest tanker vessel, Orkim Garnet.

The marine transportation company stated the 2026-built IMO Type II tanker has a deadweight capacity of 13,850 tonnes and expands its fleet size to 19 vessels with a total load capacity to 253,036 deadweight tonnes.

Orkim Garnet is designed to transport both clean petroleum products (CPP) and chemical products. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Orkim added the vessel is scheduled to commence its maiden charter voyage in the near term and allow the group to capture broader regional trade opportunities.

It added the acquisition supports its ongoing fleet rejuvenation efforts which includes a further purchase of another IMO Type II tanker in the second half of the year, alongside the delivery of two newly built CPP tankers in 2027.
