iCents secures RM34.5mil data centre subcontract

KUALA LUMPUR: iCents Group Holdings Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, VC Engineering Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM34.5mil subcontract for a data centre development project.

In a statement, the cleanroom fixtures and related products manufacturer said VC Engineering had accepted a letter of award from a local construction company for the subcontract project.

The subcontract involves the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning, as well as maintenance of air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV) systems for the data centre project.

The project is expected to be completed by February 2027.

Managing director Ir. Ts. Vincent Ong Mum Fei said the award reflected the group’s continued involvement in specialised ACMV works for data centre developments, which remains an important growth segment for the company.

“This project is expected to contribute positively to our earnings over its duration, and we remain committed to delivering the scope of work in accordance with the required specifications, timelines and quality standards,” he said.

Executive director Foo Siang Leng said the project strengthens the group’s portfolio within the data centre segment and reinforces its execution capabilities in specialised facility solutions.

Looking ahead, iCents said it remains focused on strengthening its project execution capabilities and expanding its presence in high-specification industries, including data centre developments.

The group added that it is also enhancing its cleanroom and data centre-related product manufacturing capabilities following the launch of Maytech Cleanroom Manufacturing Sdn Bhd in Mantin, Negeri Sembilan.
