MIAMI: AE Industrial Partners, a Florida-based private equity firm, is considering a sale of York Space Systems that could value the satellite company at more than US$2bil, according to people familiar with the matter.
The buyout firm is working with an adviser to run an auction process for the company, said the people, who asked to not be identified because the details aren’t public.
York has drawn interest from suitors including Canadian space-technology firm MDA Space Ltd, said the people.
The company is expected to attract interest from other industry peers and other private equity firms, the people said.
York builds low-Earth orbit, geosynchronous equatorial orbit, and cislunar spacecraft solutions for the satellite market, according to its website. — Bloomberg
