Khazanah to acquire INCJ’s stake in Edotco

KUALA LUMPUR: Khazanah Nasional Bhd will acquire Innovation Network Corporation of Japan’s (INCJ) stake in Edotco Group, for an undisclosed amount.

In a statement, Khazanah said it values its partnership with INCJ since its entry in 2017 and appreciates the collaboration over the years as INCJ nears the end of its investment mandate.

“This transaction reflects the shared commitment of Malaysia and Japan to fostering strategic partnerships. It also reinforces Khazanah’s commitment to drive the domestic investment agenda in the digital infrastructure space, contributing to Malaysia’s economic growth,” it added.

INCJ owns about 21% in Edotco.

Edotco, founded in 2012, is Asia’s first regional integrated telecom infrastructure company, providing tower leasing, colocation, build-to-suit, energy, transmission, and maintenance services.

According to its website, Edotco operates and manages a regional portfolio of over 55,000 towers across Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Laos.
