MCE bags RM22.13mil contract to supply auto components to US-based firm

KUALA LUMPUR: MCE Holdings Bhd, through wholly owned subsidiary Multi-Code Electronics Industries (M) Bhd, has secured a RM22.13 million contract to supply mechatronics components to Michigan-based automotive supplier JVIS USA LLC.

The Johor-based automotive part maker said the 60-month contract will see it supplying the components for a new vehicle model in the United States market, with production scheduled to begin in the first quarter of its financial year ending July 31, 2027.

"JVIS is renowned for its advanced manufacturing and engineering solutions, serving leading global automakers. This collaboration reinforces MCE’s growing reputation as a trusted supplier of high-quality automotive components on the international stage,” it said in a statement.

JVIS vice president Arthur Hariskos said MCE’s expertise in mechatronics and electronics aligns with the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality solutions to automakers.

Meanwhile, MCE has also partnered with Sounding Industries Ltd (SIL), a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based Eagle Group, to establish a new joint venture focused on non-automotive contract manufacturing.

The partnership, structured as a 50:50 joint venture through MCE’s wholly owned subsidiary MCE Ventures Sdn Bhd, will provide contract manufacturing services for a wide range of non-automotive products, including die-cutting machines, precision tools, and packaging solutions for the cosmetics products.

"This strategic collaboration leverages MCE’s engineering and manufacturing expertise while expanding its footprint into high-value non-automotive consumer products with export potential, creating new market opportunities and revenue streams,” MCE said. - Bernama
