Master Tec secures RM109.54mil TNB contract extension

KUALA LUMPUR: Master TEC Group Bhd has secured a RM109.54mil contract extension from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) to continue supplying underground cables and conductors for the utility's distribution network division.

In a statement, the cable manufacturer said the contract was awarded to its wholly owned subsidiary, Master Tec Wire & Cable Sdn Bhd, and forms part of contract TNB104/2025.

The original contract was valued at RM107.75mil. Including subsequent addendums and the latest extension, the total contract framework value now stands at approximately RM251.94mil.

Chief executive officer Tee Kok Hwa said the extension validates the group's manufacturing capabilities and its ability to support national-scale power infrastructure projects.

“Underground cables are not simply commodity products; they are essential components in the reliability and safety of the electricity distribution network. We are proud to continue supporting TNB’s distribution network division with products that meet demanding quality and delivery requirements,” he said.

Tee said the group remains well-positioned to benefit from opportunities arising from grid upgrades, rising electrification demand, renewable energy integration and Malaysia's ongoing energy transition.

As at July 7, Master Tec's manufacturing arm had an outstanding order book of RM231.65mil, while its infrastructure services subsidiary, Sediacom Sdn Bhd, had an outstanding order book of RM89.36mil, providing earnings visibility for the group.
