Dialog net profit rises 5% to RM127.8mil in 2Q

KUALA LUMPUR: Dialog Group Bhd, which saw its net profit climb 5% to RM127.87mil in the second quarter ended Dec 31, 2022 (2Q22), is confident that its performance will remain profitable in the current financial year.

“We are optimistic that economic activities will pick up and barring any unforeseen circumstances, the group is confident that its performance will remain profitable for the financial year ending June 30, 2022,” Dialog said in the notes accompanying its financial results.

In 2Q22, Dialog’s revenue jumped 55.1% to RM544.49mil against RM350.94mil a year prior.

For the first six months to Dec 31, the group posted an increase of 53.8% in revenue of RM1.05bil whilst the net profit was lower by 4.3% amounting to RM256.69mil.

Dialog said the growth in revenue was contributed by both Malaysian and international operations which saw increases in business activities as the economy was on a path towards recovery.

“However, the group’s net profit after tax margin for the current financial quarter and financial year to date were lower mainly caused by higher project cost,” it said.
