COLOMBO, SRI LANKA: Malaysian entrepreneur and international trade professional Datuk Dr Zairita Azlin has marked a significant milestone on the international stage after being crowned “She For The Nation – Season 2” at the prestigious Prime Minister’s Residence (Temple Trees), Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The recognition marks a historic moment as Zairita becomes the first Malaysian woman to receive the “She For The Nation” crown.
Organised by Anyelp Groups, the recognition celebrates women who demonstrate leadership, entrepreneurial achievement, international contribution, women's empowerment and a commitment to building meaningful global partnerships.
The main crown was presented by Maithripala Sirisena, the seventh President of Sri Lanka, during the ceremony held in Colombo last Saturday (August 29).
The crown was accompanied by two further international recognitions, bringing together three distinct honours reflecting Zairita's journey in leadership, entrepreneurship and international engagement.

Presented by Maithripala, the awards recognise her achievements and contribution in international project management and trade diplomacy.
Together, the three honours represent a significant international recognition of a Malaysian woman whose professional journey has extended across business, entrepreneurship, international trade and leadership.
For Zairita, the significance of the occasion extends beyond the titles and accolades. It represents an opportunity to carry the name of Malaysia onto an international platform and to inspire more women to believe in their own potential.
“I receive these honours with deep gratitude and humility. To be recognised internationally is meaningful, but to stand there as a Malaysian woman carries an even greater responsibility. Wherever I go, I carry Malaysia with me," said Zairita.
“For me, leadership has never been only about achieving success for myself. It is about creating opportunities, building bridges, opening doors and leaving something meaningful for those who come after us. If my journey can encourage even one woman to step forward with courage, purpose and confidence, then every challenge along the way has been worth it.”
The timing of the recognition carries an especially personal significance. The three honours were received just days before Malaysia celebrates its 69th Independence Day on 31 August 2026, making the occasion an even more meaningful moment of national pride.

For Zairita, the coincidence of the two occasions serves as a powerful reminder that achievements carried beyond Malaysia’s borders also carry the identity, spirit and pride of the nation.
“Wherever I go, I carry Malaysia with me. This recognition is not just about where I have reached, but about where we, as Malaysians, can go.”
The ceremony at Temple Trees also provided a meaningful platform for international engagement and the strengthening of relationships between Malaysia and Sri Lanka.
As a businesswoman and international trade professional, Zairita views global recognition not simply as a personal achievement, but as an opportunity to create greater connections between people, businesses and nations.
Her recognition highlights the important role women leaders can play in building bridges across cultures and industries while contributing to international business relationships and broader collaboration.

"The awards mark a defining chapter in the international journey of a Malaysian woman who continues to champion leadership with purpose, entrepreneurship with impact, international collaboration and the belief that women can rise while remaining grounded in their values," said Zairita.
For the record, Zairita is a Malaysian business leader, entrepreneur and international trade professional whose work encompasses business development, entrepreneurship, international partnerships and women's empowerment. She is also an author of book regarding her career and the professional journey that reflects a commitment to building meaningful international relationships, creating opportunities and contributing to stronger connections between Malaysia and the global business community.
