Elephant electrocuted, dies in charity drive at Myanmar's Kyaukse Dam

YANGON: An elephant was electrocuted to death while participating in a charity drive at Kyaukse Dam.

The incident occurred in Letwesu Village, Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region on Saturday (March 14) morning.

The elephant was from the Shwe Zabbu Aung group, and the elephant driver was riding on it, along with the donor and her daughter.

The donor and her daughter were knocked unconscious by the electric shock, while the elephant driver regained consciousness after being knocked unconscious.

The elephant that was electrocuted died after falling into a drain. The elephant's name is Pha Le Na Che. - Eleven Media/ANN
