Heavy congestion expected at Brunei's border during holiday period

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Long queues were reported at land border checkpoints in Brunei as holiday travel picked up.

At the Sungai Tujoh Control Post, outbound queues reached up to three kilometres by 2pm on Monday (Dec 22). By 2pm on Dec 23, queues were about one kilometre long, with waiting times of around an hour for immigration and customs clearance.

Traffic is expected to remain heavy due to the Christmas and New Year public holidays, coupled with the payment of government servants’ bonuses. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
