Former ambassador Maris tipped as new Thai foreign minister


BANGKOK: Former ambassador Maris Sangiampongsa (pic), known for his close ties with ex-prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, has been tipped to succeed Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara as foreign minister.

Parnpree announced his shock resignation on Sunday (April 28) after he was stripped of the post of deputy PM in Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin’s Cabinet reshuffle.
