For decades, fish bombing has plagued the coral of Sabah’s remote islands.

Here, where the long arm of the law falls short, locals have used bombs to instantly harvest the seemingly endless bounty of fish in these pristine, unpolluted waters — without quite realising that the destruction wreaked upon the reefs would jeopardise fish breeding therein, and hence their own future.
