When brothers Joseph and Albert Grace built Grace Building in 1928, it was to be their flagship store of their retail empire. Sydney was booming and the Grace brothers thought the construction of the Harbour Bridge would turn York and Clarence Streets upon which it was located into Sydney’s main thoroughfares.
