Magic behind the ‘zero-feel’ crease
User experience has always been a top priority for OPPO, and its ‘zero-feel’ crease mechanism in the latest Find N6 model showcases the pinnacle of technology in book-style foldable smartphone design.
Over years of research and development, OPPO has invested in hinge and display structure technology. This culminates in its Zero-Feel Crease technology, a first in the industry.
To achieve a virtually seamless screen, the brand executed a complete overhaul of the two most important parts of a folding phone: the hinge and the flexible inner display.
The Find N6 features the second-generation Titanium Flexion Hinge. Created with the industry’s first 3D Liquid Printing technology, this manufacturing process improves surface flatness by 75%, allowing the flexible display to lie flatter when unfolded.
The hinge in a foldable phone undergoes a massive amount of repetitive stress. It can easily become the weak link after heavy usage, which remains a primary concern for users considering a foldable device.
To ensure the hinge does not loosen or degrade over time, OPPO used a customised photosensitive polymer that can withstand pulling forces up to 40,000 times its own weight.
The OPPO design team extensively tested the hinge mechanism’s durability, finding that it retains structural integrity and keeps the inner display flat even after 600,000 folds.
To put this into perspective: even if you folded your phone 100 times a day, it would take over 16 years to hit that number. This feat earned the device the TÜV Rheinland Minimized Crease Certification, the industry's most rigorous test for fold-flatness.
The OPPO team paired this new hinge design with a new Auto-Smoothing Flex Glass. This material is 50% thicker and offers 30% greater pressure resistance than previous generations.
Consequently, this glass reduces long-term crease formation by 82%, ensuring a flatter and more consistent inner-screen experience even after years of use.
Refining the everyday experience
Apart from the improved hinge mechanism, the Find N series’ iconic Cosmos Ring camera module has received a minor refresh. It is now more streamlined and visually cleaner, centrally placed to ensure that the device does not wobble when resting on flat surfaces.
Additionally, the highly customisable snap key from the Find X9 makes an appearance on the N6. This physical button allows users to bind a quick action, making navigating the device more convenient.
Assignable quick actions include launching the AI Mind Space, accessing system functions, shortcut keys or even opening specific applications.
Supported functions include toggling between sound and vibration modes or Do Not Disturb mode, opening the native camera app, turning on the flashlight, starting a voice recording, activating the translator function, or taking a screenshot.
The Find N6 comes in two colours: a classic Stellar Titanium (a grey tone with a subtle metallic sheen) and the vibrant, eye-catching Blossom Orange.
