Where legacy meets innovation

THE right mattress can impact how much you get a restful sleep at night, and it’s more than just sticking to a schedule or a bedtime routine.

For the past 56 years, homegrown Malaysian brand Getha has been redefining what a good night’s sleep should feel like.

By championing the natural benefits of 100% pure latex, the brand has consistently reimagined how mattress materials can elevate sleep quality and support overall well-being.

Back in 2007, Getha set a new industry benchmark with Transform – Malaysia’s first mattress infused with nano-silver protection.

Building upon this heritage of innovation, the brand recently debuted its fourth generation Transform Miracle Latex at the Aurum Theatre, The Exchange TRX Mall on Nov 27.

More than just a mattress, the new offering represents a breakthrough designed to redefine how comfort and nature work together in the modern bedroom.

The mattress employs Getha’s most advanced latex formulation yet. Infused with Graphite Plus technology, it is derived from natural resources that strengthen, cool and refine the latex structure, staying true to the brand’s promise of designing eco-friendly, sustainable and natural products.

Made from 100% natural latex – which is up to four times more elastic than conventional mattress materials like coconut fibre – the new structure offers greater resilience and longer-lasting support for the body.

At the product launch, Getha showcased a glass display of the Miracle Latex. Even after twisting, bending and stretching, the latex retained its natural characteristics, demonstrating the material’s ability to deliver a consistently restful night’s sleep.

The breakthrough lies in Getha's BioCool fabric, developed through dedicated research and development (R&D) with European partners.

Where synthetic materials have dominated cooling technology, Getha discovered that sugarcane fibres deliver superior natural cooling performance, softer and more comfortable than the synthetic alternatives found in standard cooling mattresses, the first of its kind in Malaysia.

This renewable, plant-based material offers the breathability and sustainability that Malaysia's hot climate demands.

Combined with anti-static and Getha’s innovative nano-silver protection, this new mattress offers exceptional functionality at an attractive price point.

Getha managing director Vincent Tan said the long gap between their last launch was not due to hesitation but to discipline, with R&D taking eight years to develop the groundbreaking Miracle Latex.

“We did not want to just introduce another mattress model – we wanted something extraordinary that truly moved the industry.

“I believe that true innovation requires patience and the courage to prioritise excellence over speed,” shared Vincent at the launch.

Complementing the mattress collection is Getha's first-ever Elevate bed frame. Crafted from solid meranti wood, it features a 100% natural latex-padded headboard and a sink-in design for the comfort and style of modern bedrooms.

Understanding that latex mattresses are heavy, which makes changing bedsheets a hurdle with a sink-in design, Getha integrated a German hydraulic motor that elevates the mattress at the touch of a button, revealing a hidden storage compartment beneath while providing easier access to the mattress for seamless bedsheet changes.

Like all Getha mattresses, it comes with a 10-year warranty. The bed frame structure and motor each come with separate warranties, three years and one year, respectively.

Continuing its predecessor's legacy, the Transforme Miracle Latex Collection is designed for longevity and will likely be around for the next decade. The collection, however, will continue to evolve and not be replaced, Getha project director Kevin Tan shared.

He further emphasised that the brand represents more than innovation – it's an ecosystem when it comes to staying true to the brand’s promise.

"When consumers buy our products, they’re giving these rubber trees a purpose to live, which is very important in this day and age, where deforestation is a problem.

“With these rubber trees, we are also indirectly creating jobs for people – rubber tappers from small and large stakeholders of rubber plantations.

“It's not just chemicals put together and foaming a foam or material, but it's truly from nature all the way to your bedroom,” he explained.

The new Transforme Miracle Latex Collection hits retail stores beginning Nov 27. Prices for mattresses range from RM4,799 to RM8,999 across four sizes: single, super single, queen and king.

The pillows are also currently on sale at the following prices:

> Transforme Miracle Latex Pillow: RM499

> Transforme Miracle Latex Bolster: RM599

> Miracle Latex Pillow (entry-level pillow without BioCool): RM399

To celebrate the launch, Getha is offering 35% off the recommended retail price. Getha sweetens the deal further with an exclusive trade-in programme for those needing an upgrade.

With rebates up to RM1,500, Getha is making premium natural latex accessible to a broader market, delivering cutting-edge technology and lasting comfort.
