Calling book lovers. Vote for your favourite Malaysian book in the Popular-The Star Readers' Choice Awards.
THE Popular-The Star Readers' Choice Awards (RCA) is back.
Started in 2008, RCA aims to encourage creativity among local authors and further augment the local literary industry by recognising authors for their efforts and contributions.
The award is also an important feature of the upcoming BookFest @ Malaysia 2023.
Entering its 13th iteration this year, the award is organised in tandem with Star Media Group, drawing an increasingly diversified field of genres and authors.
This boosts Popular’s efforts in promoting the love of reading and books among Malaysians.
Nominated titles are selected from last year's best-selling fiction and non-fiction titles at Popular and Harris bookstores in Malaysia.
Malaysian readers will choose the winners by voting for their favourites from the 10 nominated fiction and non-fiction titles.
They can vote for their top three best books in each category. The RCA voting period will run from March 31 to May 7, 2023.
The winners from each category will be unveiled during a ceremony at Hall 1, KL Convention Centre (KLCC) at 11am on June 3. This will be in conjunction with BookFest @ Malaysia 2023 from June 3 to 11, 2023.

When participants vote for their favourite books, they also stand a chance to win a Popular RM50 gift voucher and a one-year Popular e-card membership.
