Home-cooked food made easy and healthy

The Philips Airfryer XXL can fit a whole chicken in its basket.

THE air fryer touts multifunction cooking – frying, baking, roasting, grilling and reheating – all wrapped in a chic and compact machine that not only elevates a kitchen space but also takes a home cook’s game up a notch.

It uses hot air to mimic frying with little need for oil, and cooks food uniformly that would ensure perfectly cooked meals sans the grease – resulting in healthier food without compromising taste and texture.

As we ease into a new normal way of living and as some of us are observing Ramadan, a quick and easy fix to meal preparation could potentially shave time off an already busy schedule.

Taking the lead once again, Philips has upped the ante with its new iteration Airfryer XXL with Smart Sensing technology.

Putting an end to all the guesswork, the model’s smart sensing technology automatically adjusts timing and temperature based on the type of food at the touch of a button – just choose a setting, press the button and it’s done. Better yet, this nifty machine helps keep food warm automatically when it’s done cooking for up to half an hour.

This beautifully designed kitchen appliance features the Five Smart Chefs programme that does the thinking for you.

Popular dishes are made simple just by picking the built-in preset buttons to either cook a whole chicken, chicken drumsticks, frozen and fresh fries, or an entire fish.

It also monitors the temperature and amount of food in its basket and self-regulates throughout the cooking process.

The air fryer gained its popularity with its ability to cook notoriously greasy albeit well-loved foods while preserving the taste and, most importantly, the satisfying crunch and crispy texture that once could only be perfected with heaps of oil or fat.

Philips Airfryer XXL is able to cook food at a whopping 90% less fat with the Philips rapid air technology that creates seven times faster airflow.

With this airflow speed, it is able to cook food up to 1.5 times faster compared to food done in a conventional oven with no additional preheating necessary.

Meanwhile, the fat removal technology separates and extracts excess fat for healthier meals allowing for healthier dishes like a whole roast chicken with tender meat and crispy skin at up to 50% less saturated fat.

As the name suggests, the Philips Airfryer XXL is generous in size, being able to fit a whole chicken in its basket or up to 1.4kg of fries – perfect for family-sized meals of up to six portions.

The machine takes the cake with how easy it is to clean. The Airfryer QuickClean basket has a removable, non-stick mesh insert with all the removable parts being dishwasher-safe for no-fuss cleaning.
