PETALING JAYA: National squash player S. Sivasangari stormed into the quarter-finals of the US Open with a commanding straight-set victory over Egypt’s Kenzy Ayman on Monday (Nov 2).

The Malaysian world No. 4 outclassed her 25th-ranked opponent 11-3, 11-7, 11-3 at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia.

It was her fifth consecutive win over Ayman in as many career meetings.

Fifth seed Sivasangari faces a stern test next against Egyptian world No. 1 Amina Orfi.

The pair have split their four meetings this year with two wins apiece, although Orfi holds the edge from their most recent encounter at the London Classic in September.

Meanwhile, in the men’s event, world No. 17 Ng Eain Yow’s campaign ended after he fell 12-10, 8-11, 9-11, 2-11 to Peru’s world No. 3 Diego Elias.
