Sivasangari overcomes slow start to power into US final

PETALING JAYA: A shaky start could not stop national squash ace S. Sivasangari from storming into the Silicon Valley Open final on Friday (Oct 23).

The world No. 4 bounced back from a set down to beat India's world No. 15 Anahat Singh 5-11, 11-6, 11-4, 11-7 in just 37 minutes in Redwood City, California.

Sivasangari has now reached back-to-back finals at the gold-level event, having finished runner-up to American Olivia Weaver last year.

The third seed will face either home player Marina Stefanoni or Egypt's Farida Mohamed in the title-match.
