Aira Azman beats big sis Aifa in National C'ships title clash

GEORGE TOWN: National squash player Aira Azman got her third straight National Championships title after taking down big sister Aifa on Sunday (Aug 17).

Defending champion Aira, 20, went toe-to-toe with her 23-year-old sibling and came out on top, winning 8-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-6, 11-8 at the Nicol David International Squash Centre here.

It was a repeat of last year’s final in Kuala Lumpur, where Aira emerged victorious after four sets at the Jalan Duta Squash Courts.

In 2023, Aira won her first national title when she defeated Noor Ainaa Amani Ampandi.
