Historic double

Impressive feat: Aira Azman stepped up and delivered the winning point. – Bernama

NATIONAL squash player Aira Azman had never played in a decider of a major Games but yesterday she stood tall like a seasoned pro.

The final between Malaysia and Hong Kong went down to the wire after Aifa Azman delivered the opening point with a hard-fought 11-9, 11-9, 12-10 win against Ho Tze Lok but Sivasangari fell 7-11, 11-9, 11-9, 5-11, 7-11 to Chan Sin Yuk.
