Yiwen prevails in first clash against Egypt’s Rihany


PETALING JAYA: Playing against an unfamiliar opponent can be tricky, but national squash player Chan Yiwen kept her cool to clear her quarter-final hurdle in the Madeira Island International.

The world No. 75 Yiwen outplayed Egypt’s world No. 118 Amina El Rihany 11-6, 11-3, 13-11 in the last eight in Funchal, Portugal, on Friday to set up a match against her roommate Tessa Ter Sluis of Holland next.
