Houston heartbreak as Eain Yow crashes out

PETALING JAYA: National squash player Ng Eain Yow suffered an early exit at the Texas Open after losing to Pakistan’s Mohd Ashab Irfan in the second round on Friday (Feb 13).

World No. 16 Eain Yow went down 7-11, 11-8, 11-4, 8-11, 12-14 to the world No. 44 in a closely contested 73-minute match at the Houston Squash Club.

It was their first meeting, with eighth seed Eain Yow receiving a first-round bye while Ashab had advanced after beating Switzerland’s Yannick Wilhelmi in straight sets.
