Fatehah provides silver lining on final day in Japan (updated)

SINGAPORE: Fatehah Mustapa sneaked in at just the right time to snatch a well-deserved silver medal in women’s elite keirin final at the Asian Cycling Championships in Shizuoka, Japan.

The 26-year-old crossed the finish line behind Hong Kong’s Lee Wai Sze, the London Olympic keirin bronze medallist as South Korea’s fast-rising youngster Lee Hye-jin, who took silver in the sprint on Thursday, snatched the bronze ahead of three Chinese cyclists – Guo Shuang, Lin Junhong and Gong Jinjie.
