BANGKOK: Malaysia have met their target of winning 200 medals at the Thailand SEA Games, thanks to cycling’s superb showing.

The men’s team pursuit quartet of Abdul Azim Aliyas, Lau New Joe, Yusri Shaari and Mohd Hafiq Jafri produced a splendid ride to clinch gold at the Huamak Velodrome on Thursday (Dec 20).

The victory pushed Malaysia to the 200-medal mark set for the Games.

Thailand took silver while Indonesia settled for bronze.

The team pursuit triumph was Malaysia’s third gold from track cycling after Mohd Ridwan Sahrom and Nur Aisyah Zubir had earlier won the men’s keirin and women’s scratch events respectively.
