PETALING JAYA: Going with the flow has been the key to national bowler Sin Li Jane’s success.
That may sound like a casual approach, but it has worked like a charm for the 32-year-old veteran.
On Thursday, Li Jane rolled down the Greater Nashville Classic title in the United States. It was her second success in less than a month as she also won the Journal Rockford Open on May 11.
This is also the first time Li Jane has won two Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) competitions in a year.
It’s no wonder why Li Jane is loving life in the US.
“I’m incredibly happy and almost speechless after winning my second PWBA title this year. I guess this will take some time to sink as I did not expect this,” said Li Jane, who beat Singaporean Cherie Tan 267-208 in the stepladder final to win the Greater Nashville Classic at the Smyrna Bowling Centre.
“In the Nashville Classic, I told myself to just take it one game at a time and go with the flow and see where it leads me. I believe in my bowling and I know if I’m in full flow, things will go my way.’’
American Verity Crawley finished third after she lost to Li Jane 224-235 in the semi-final.
In the first round of qualifying, Li Jane only finished 24th with 1,343 pins but she came back stronger in the second round, placing fourth with 2,805 pins.
The Nashville success sees Li Jane pocketing US$10,000 (RM47,040).
Before 2024, her last win in the PWBA was in 2017 when she topped the Lincoln Open in Nebraska.
Li Jane added: “Two victories in a month is just immense. I am just grateful to achieve all these successes in the US.”
She also posted runner-up finishes in the 2016 Greater Detroit Open, 2017 Wichita Open and 2019 USBC Queens.
But there will be no rest for Li Jane as she will compete in the PWBA BowlTV Classic, which will also be held at the Smyrna Bowling Centre in Tennessee, starting today.
