KUANTAN: Malaysia’s homegrown travel carnival is back.

Following a successful inaugural edition, Star Karnival Cuti-Cuti Malaysia (SKCCM) 2026 returns for its second season, beginning its nationwide roadshow this weekend at East Coast Mall, Kuantan, from July 3 to 5.

Organised by Tourism Malaysia in collaboration with Star Media Group Berhad, the three-day carnival aims to bring Malaysia’s tourism experiences closer to the public while encouraging more Malaysians to explore the country’s rich diversity of destinations, cultures and attractions in support of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.

Carrying the theme “Explore. Experience. Excite”, SKCCM 2026 transforms the shopping mall into a one-stop travel marketplace where visitors can discover holiday ideas, meet tourism players, enjoy cultural experiences and take advantage of exclusive promotions, all under one roof.

The Kuantan edition marks the first of six locations on this year’s nationwide roadshow, which is expected to attract more than 200,000 visitors across Pahang, Johor, Sabah, Penang, Selangor and Sarawak.

Visitors can look forward to exploring more than 30 exhibitors and vendors representing various segments of Malaysia’s tourism industry.

From travel agencies offering attractive holiday packages to hotels and resorts, theme park operators, tourist attractions, as well as exhibitors showcasing local food, crafts and lifestyle products, the carnival offers something for every type of traveller.

Whether planning a family holiday, searching for a weekend getaway, or simply looking for fresh travel inspiration, visitors will have the opportunity to engage directly with tourism operators, compare travel offerings and discover experiences from destinations across Malaysia.

As the opening destination of the nationwide series, Pahang takes centre stage with a showcase of the state’s tourism gems and cultural heritage.

Visitors can learn more about iconic attractions such as Menara Kuantan 188, the tallest tower on the Peninsular Malaysia East Coast, while exploring traditional Pahang batik, locally made handicrafts and signature delicacies including the state’s famous patin tempoyak.

The carnival also celebrates Malaysia’s rich cultural diversity through exhibitors from other states, bringing regional flavours and tourism experiences to Kuantan.

Visitors can sample Terengganu’s famous Nasi Dagang Atas Tol, savour handcrafted Sarawak kek lapis and enjoy authentic Sabah-style cendol prepared using ingredients sourced directly from the state.

Beyond the exhibition booths, the carnival promises an exciting line-up of activities throughout the weekend.

Visitors can participate in interactive games, enjoy stage performances, join family-friendly activities, win giveaways and take part in daily lucky draws, making it an ideal outing for families, friends and travel enthusiasts alike.

Adding even more excitement, the official airline partner of SKCCM 2026 Batik Air will be

giving away complimentary domestic flight tickets to selected lucky draw winners throughout the three-day event, alongside many other attractive prizes contributed by participating exhibitors throughout the three-day carnival.

Building on the momentum of its successful debut last year, SKCCM continues to serve as a platform that connects tourism businesses directly with consumers, while encouraging domestic travel and supporting Malaysia’s tourism industry.

The carnival also provides local entrepreneurs, food vendors and tourism operators with an opportunity to showcase their products and experiences to thousands of potential visitors.

Admission to SKCCM is free, making it the perfect weekend destination for anyone looking to plan their next holiday, discover hidden gems across Malaysia or simply enjoy a vibrant tourism-themed carnival with family and friends.

With only three days to enjoy exclusive travel promotions, cultural performances, local delicacies and exciting lucky draws, it is the perfect time for family and friends to gather for a memorable weekend at East Coast Mall.

For those planning their next adventure or looking for an exciting weekend out, SKCCM 2026 is the place to begin their journey.
