PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles shuttler Chen Tang Jie is looking to take his game to greater heights with his partner Toh Ee Wei after ending the year on a high.

Tang Jie-Ee Wei fought valiantly on Sunday before going down 18-21, 21-14, 17-21 to Paris Olympic Games gold medal winners Zheng Siwei-Huang Yaqiong of China in the final of the World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, China.

It has been an exceptional year, having won the Korean Open and reaching the finals of the Swiss Open and Thailand Masters. They also qualified for the Paris Olympic Games despite combining less than a year.

"As I step forward into 2025, I do so with gratitude and determination to reach even greater heights," said Tang Jie in his IG posting

"To my partner, I believe that with our effort and united strength, we can make a push for the upcoming big four in the upcoming season. Are you ready? @toh.eewei.

Malaysian Open next month will be one of the big event for them, besides the All-England and the World Championships. And if they remain consistent, they are expected to qualify again for the World Tour Finals.

Tang Jie also thanked all his support team.

"This year's achievements have been meaningful, yet I know there's always room to improve. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support and dedication of so many," he said.

"Thank you to my family, who have been my foundation: my coach (Nova Widianto), and the BAM team, who have guided and pushed me to new heights, who work tireless without the spotlight. And to everyone of you who have cheered for me."
