THE lightning strike that killed a footballer in a stadium at Sungai Golok, Thailand, is a wake-up call to take lightning strikes very seriously (“Thai footballer dies, Malaysian injured after lightning strike during match”, The Star, Aug 5; online at bit.ly/4welRpx).
With Malaysia ranked among the top three countries globally for lightning density and frequency, it is prudent for all Malaysians to be wary of lightning danger.
