Fuller picture of present retrenchment wave

I REFER to the letter “Govt must act decisively as retrenchments rise” (The Star, July 23; https://tinyurl.com/yjnukkh4).

While the underlying figures are not in dispute, the claim is built on one dataset that, however accurate it is, can still mislead if not read against the fuller picture.
