Remembering two icons of Muzium Negara

INTERNATIONAL Museum Day is celebrated on May 18 every year to raise awareness about the important role these institutions play in, according to the International Council of Museums, “cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples”.

I am reminded of this every time I drive by or visit our national museum, and two names always surface whenever I reflect on the development this institution – Tan Sri Mubin Sheppard (pic, left) and Datuk Shahrum Yub (right).
