Kuala Lumpur is fast becoming a hub for digital art, welcoming both the tech-savvy younger generation and the general public eager to explore new and immersive experiences.
Immersive digital art events and spaces like RXP.KL at REXKL, Muzium Telekom, GMBB showcases, occasional shopping mall exhibitions, Think City’s Kreatif KL festival, and an upcoming digital art exhibition (featuring the national collection) at the National Art Gallery later this year are all shaping KL’s evolving new media art scene.
As the capital’s future-forward creative scene thrives, Immersify KL emerges as a groundbreaking new media gallery poised to redefine the art experience.
Immersify KL, located at The Labs at Bukit Bintang City Centre (ground floor), is a true digital wonderland, spanning an impressive 2,787sq m.
Designed by Korean digital media art group Bitgrim Immersify Group in collaboration with property developer EcoWorld, this permanent gallery provides Malaysians and tourists with a cutting-edge space to experience the future of art.
Immersify KL welcomes visitors daily from 10am to 10pm. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or simply seeking a unique escape, this futuristic space offers a mesmerising break from reality.
The gallery also features a cafe, themed “Illuminating Art, Inspiring Flavours”, where guests can relax with treats and drinks amid digital art.
“A themed attraction like Immersify KL offers a perfect blend of education and entertainment for people of all ages. Whether you’re visiting with friends, family, or young children, there’s something for everyone to enjoy,” said Lee Moon Yub, Immersify KL’s chief executive officer, at the recent opening ceremony.
With 11 sections to explore, Immersify KL offers a rich array of digital art experiences.
Here are five highlights from Immersify KL you won’t want to miss:
This lively zone is bound to be a favourite among families, delighting children and the young at heart.
Here, creativity comes to life as visitors sketch and colour their own fish or stingrays, then scan their drawings to see them transform into animated creatures swimming across giant projection screens.
With coloured pencils provided, it’s a magical blend of hands-on art and digital innovation.
If you haven’t visited a real waterfall in a while, this section offers a stunning digital alternative.
A towering, hyper-realistic projection of cascading water fills the space, enhanced by immersive sound effects that make it feel almost real.
Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and let the soothing sounds of flowing water wash over you. But stay alert – playful elephants occasionally wander in for a splash, adding a delightful surprise to this serene scene.
For a striking portrait, don’t miss this kaleidoscope-inspired installation. Mirrors reflect waves of light, multiplying colours and patterns for a dazzling effect.
Though there may be a queue, the wait is worth it – visitors can experiment with angles, silhouettes, and poses to create stunning, psychedelic visuals.
If you’re on a date, this is the perfect spot for a memorable – dreamlike world – photo.
One of the final stops in the gallery, this zone features Malaysia’s first-ever 360°, two-storey immersive space.
The journey begins underwater, as stingrays glide past and vibrant corals swirl around you.
Then, in a seamless transition, the scene transforms into an icy wonderland, where a towering tree shifts from winter’s frosty white to spring’s golden bloom.
It’s a sensory spectacle – and the perfect backdrop for panoramic photos.
The journey through Immersify KL concludes with a tribute to three master artists—Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Gustav Klimt.
This final section brings their masterpieces to life, allowing visitors to step inside iconic artworks. Imagine being surrounded by Van Gogh’s swirling Starry Night and vibrant Sunflowers, as if you’ve entered a living canvas.
These two digital renditions offer a taste of the real thing – perhaps inspiring a future visit to the Museum of Modern Art in New York or the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
Monet’s Impression, Sunrise and Klimt’s Portrait Of Adele Bloch-Bauer I are among the other timeless masterpieces that will leave visitors in awe.
