Rest and service areas for road users’ comfort and safety

PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) refers to the letter headlined “Construct lay-bys on expressways” which was written by Mr S. Sundareson recently, requesting for more lay-bys to be built on highways for customers’ safety (The Star, Aug 11). PLUS would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Sundareson for reaching out to us via The Star.

PLUS would like to highlight that there are currently 29 rest and service areas (RSA) and 50 lay-bys provided on its highways. These RSAs are located at approximately 60km intervals. In between the RSAs, there are two lay-bys at 20km to 30km intervals. This is on top of the 73 emergency bays located at selected critical stretches of the highways.
