NEW YORK, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Monday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, fell 0.02 percent to 99.894 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro dropped to 1.1514 dollars from 1.1531 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound lost to 1.3431 dollars from 1.3482 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 156.74 Japanese yen, lower than 158.9 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar rose to 0.8101 Swiss francs from 0.8082 Swiss francs, and it added to 1.4045 Canadian dollars from 1.4019 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar climbed to 9.5557 Swedish kronor from 9.5193 Swedish kronor.
