Crude futures settle lower


NEW YORK, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices jumped on Monday.

The West Texas Intermediate for September delivery decreased by 4.33 U.S. dollars, or 5.11 percent, to settle at 80.34 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for October delivery lost 4.16 dollars, or 4.73 percent, to settle at 83.77 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
