Russia says 2 killed, dozens injured in Ukrainian drone strikes

MOSCOW, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and dozens injured in the latest wave of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia's Kherson and Belgorod regions, local authorities said on Monday.

"Air defense units and mobile fire groups intercepted and destroyed 76 drones over the Kherson Region," Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo said in a social media post, adding that the attacks left one civilian dead and 23 others wounded.

Saldo also said that sappers defused six explosive devices and neutralized two previously uncovered munitions.

Separately, a Ukrainian drone strike targeting a vehicle in the Belgorod Region killed one person and wounded two others, the regional operational headquarters announced in an official statement.
