A VIDEO circulating on social media showed a group of workers gathering at Rompin Hospital in Pahang, raising concerns among the public about what was happening at the facility.
For anyone who has ever waited anxiously in a hospital corridor, the sight of a gathering at a healthcare facility is enough to prompt questions about whether patients were being looked after.
Were services at Rompin Hospital really disrupted by a workers' protest?
Verdict:

FALSE
Operations at Rompin Hospital and the delivery of health services to patients were not affected by the gathering, the Pahang Health Department said.
The department said it had taken appropriate steps to ensure the continuity of health services was not disrupted.
A total of 24 workers, comprising cleaning and grounds maintenance staff employed by a non-concession company, were involved in the gathering.
The workers had gathered to seek an explanation over allegations that deductions from their salaries for Employees Provident Fund and Social Security Organisation contributions had not been remitted.
"The issue raised by them was resolved after the company made salary payments to the workers concerned at 12 noon yesterday," the Pahang Health Department said.
The department advised the public not to speculate about the matter, adding that any developments would be communicated through official channels from time to time.
