A screen capture from the video that went viral showing Korean police forcing a Malaysian driver off the road after a 10km chase in Jincheon, South Korea. The suspect was nabbed for driving without a licence.
JUST because you have the need for speed, doesn't mean you forget the etiquette of driving.
This is especially true if you are driving in a foreign country.
Did a Malaysian man lead South Korean cops in a 10km car chase in Jincheon while still using his turn signals?
Verdict:
TRUE
According to South Korea's The Chosun Daily, the man in his 30s, identified only as Mr A, had led police in a 10km car chase earlier in January after police patrolling the area checked Mr A’s license plate and confirmed the vehicle was not registered for mandatory insurance.
"When police ordered Mr A to stop, he ignored the command and fled. During the chase, he collided with a patrol car, suddenly accelerated while appearing to stop, and repeatedly crossed the centre line due to traffic congestion," read a statement from the Jincheon Police Station, North Chungcheong Province.
Police dashcam footage captured Mr A faithfully using turn signals when changing lanes or overtaking vehicles.
Authorities eventually deployed two patrol cars to block his vehicle from the front and rear.
The 10km pursuit ended only after Mr A rammed a police car.
Mr A was arrested on-site for driving without a license, reckless driving, and damaging a patrol car.
During the investigation, he reportedly stated, “I was scared of getting caught driving without a license, so I fled.”
The incident has gone viral with many people being tickled by Mr A's driving etiquette of using turn signals despite trying to flee cops.
Now if only some people back home would follow Mr A's example minus the breaking the law part!
