A VIOLENT altercation captured on camera has been making the rounds on social media.

The video, which went viral over the weekend, shows two men engaged in a physical fight in a public area in Kajang.

But did this incident really involve a man being badly beaten up at a petrol station?

Verdict:

TRUE

Police are investigating a fight involving two men at a public area in Taman Sungai Chua, Kajang after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said police received information regarding the incident at about 11.16pm on Sunday (Jan 25).

“Preliminary investigations found that the incident is believed to have occurred at about 12.50pm on the same day, involving two men who were seen fighting in a public area,” he said in a statement on Monday (Jan 26).

He added that, as of now, neither of the individuals involved has lodged a police report and the actual cause of the incident is still under investigation.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code for affray, which carries a punishment of up to six months’ imprisonment or a fine of up to RM1,000, or both, upon conviction.

Those with information related to the incident are urged to contact the Kajang district police control centre at 03-8911 4243 or the investigating officer, Sjn Mohamad Najib Mohd Radgali, at 012-342 9297 to assist in the investigation.
